JR Smith
A creative wonder boy, JR Smith was brought up in a medical family in Chicago, IL. The seeds of his entertainment influences can be attributed to being a heavy Lego user, devout Henson lover, and bit of a drawing nut. While visiting his cousin – an artist at the Art Institute of Chicago -- JR was noticed, selected and removed from the blood flow of a life as a future doctor and injected into the turbulent waters of the arts.
California Institute of the Arts (Cal Arts) became JR’s home for 9 years, where he received a BFA in Film: Character Animation, and also a MA in Theatre, majoring in Scenic Design and Puppetry. During his time at Cal Arts, he caught the attention of entertainment legends Herb Alpert, Ray Bradbury, E. Michael Mitchell and Marty Sklar. Those relationships provided JR entry into a series of rare apprenticeships, molding his future as one made for children’s entertainment. JR has been working as an idea-creator and dream-designer for feature films, animation and video games.
Imaginus Zoo is the result of variations, collaborations and development of JR’s multi-media puppet thesis, ‘Satellite Sinai’. JR is leading Aeverything, his production company, as the vehicle to release multiple platforms of entertainment for the creative leaders of tomorrow.

He graduated from Cal Arts in 2009, then ventured into the great unknown to pursue his creative quest. Spencer signed with The Masses production company as a Director for music videos and commercials in 2010. He recently directed a music video for popular band Fitz & The Tantrums. Spencer continues to create whimsical videos, while developing ideas for features, television and new media. Dane strongly believes in the effectiveness of collaboration. On every project he strives to build a strong collaborative environment between himself and the director.
